Mr. Earles spent many years in furniture design and retail before discovering his true passion. He received his teaching degree and a math endorsement from National Louis University, right across the street from the Art Institute of Chicago and Millennium Park.
Having heard great stories about Walt Disney Magnet School, Mr. Earles was thrilled to become part of the team in 2006. In addition to his classroom involvement, he spends his time studying strategies of instructions, and works at integrating all learning modalities into his teaching. And ever since getting his first iPod years ago, he has been fascinated with all forms of technology and how to incorporate them into his classroom. In the summer of 2013, he completed an advanced Interactive White Board training and can now be referred to as a "Promethean Master Educator." Ooooo! Ahhhh!
Another interesting fact is in July of 2010, Mr. Earles adopted a French bulldog named Sucette, and loves doting upon her. Within a few months he also had the honor of adopting a puppy that was placed in his foster care. With the addition of Cosette (he calls her CoCo for short) he’s now the proud daddy of two frenchies pictured to the left. Just look at those amazing ears!
Lastly because of his love of young adult literature, each January he anticipates the announcement of the year's Newberry Award Winner and looks to increase his personal collection with selections from years past. He also welcomes all crock-pot recipes that might be sent his way. :)
